Job Summary:


The Processing, Guidance, and Control (PGC) center team combines the performance disciplines of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MSA), Signal Processing (SP), and Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) to provide robust effectors solutions for the warfighter.

The PGC center specializes in providing SP and GNC solutions in integrated flight simulations that support the lifecycle of the product, from conceptual design and trades, to development, even before the target hardware is available, to evaluating the system performance and reducing the number of trials required before fielding a product.


The Signal Processing department is seeking a Senior Signal Processing Engineer to perform in the role of EO Signal Processing Team Lead on a Land & Air Defense Systems program.

This position is located at our Tucson, AZ location. This position is an onsite role.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:


  • As the Signal Processing Team Lead, you will be responsible for identifying, designing, and executing studies to stress and evaluate signal processing capabilities that will be used to inform design refinements and development.
  • You will define and execute signal processing algorithm performance studies to ensure integrating new capabilities do not harm existing system performance.
  • You will work with embedded software including realtime SP algorithm development for missiles system products.
  • You will offer experience and guidance to help the program spin up, train new engineers, and execute efficiently and effectively.
  • You will support missile performance analysis including model development, system optimization, and Monte Carlo assessments.
  • You will have close interaction with the Cross Product Team Lead (CPTL) for scope definition.
  • You will interface and coordinate with program leadership (which includes Chief Engineers, Test Architects, and Crossfunctional IPTLs) and Systems Engineering Functional Leadership.
  • You will function as the Product Owner role in an Agile environment, responsible for refining and grooming the signal processing product and sprint backlog.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and five (5) years or more of Signal Processing related engineering experience.
  • Experience developing EO Signal Processing algorithms.
  • Experience programming in C/C++.
  • Experience using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree.
  • Experience leading a small algorithm development team.
  • Experience developing and presenting technical briefings.
  • Experience using Software Configuration Management tools.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience supporting activities leading to flight test such as IFS and CIL performance analysis, ensuring compliance to performance metrics prior to software release.
  • Experience supporting missile and captive flight tests, providing realtime and postmission SP system performance analysis.
  • Resultsoriented work ethic and able to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines.
  • Land & Air Defense Systems effectors experience.
  • Experience integrating / troubleshooting embedded software on hardware platforms.
  • Experience working with Common Digital Products (genSoft, MissileKit, FUEL, Ultra, etc.)
