Job Summary
Laura Attanasio, an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Policy in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences, is looking for a research assistant to provide support to an NIH-funded project examining birth experiences among Black individuals with a prior cesarean birth.
Essential Functions
- Conduct semistructured interviews with participants.
- Other research tasks include participation in recruiting efforts, scheduling research participants, and managing qualitative research data.
Other Functions
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- At least one (1) year of experience as a doula, lactation counselor, or similar role.
- Knowledge of pregnancy and birth, and the US healthcare system as it pertains to experiences during the perinatal period.
- Detailoriented and reliable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively both within a team environment and independently, with mínimal supervision.
- Willing to learn new skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
- Previous experience conducting research.
- Previous experience working with perinatal populations.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Typical office environment.
Work Schedule
- 10 hours per week with a variable schedule.
- This is a temporary, unbenefited position.
Salary Information
$30 per hour.
