Position Summary:


Supports production with raw materials, maintaining an orderly and clean facility in compliance with regulations and completing all paperwork associated with these tasks.


Position Responsibility:


  • The Material Handler will place raw material back on shelf After the batch is released by Quality.
  • After receiving the raw material, which is shipped to manufacturing warehouse, inventory will be placed on shelves. And when required, raw material orders will be pulled from shelves.
  • Checks equipment according to the check list (hand, electric jack and forklift).
  • Conducts physical inventory as directed.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed both in operations and material handling.
  • Must properly care for and maintain equipment during use and storage of the equipment
  • Must climb ladder and use forklift operation to retrieve stock.
  • Secures equipment to ensure that the equipment will not be accidentally turned on without performing the proper security measures, (turnoff power and all safety procedures) then places tag on equipment to verify checks have been completed. This is known as performing lock out/ tag out procedures.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment a respirator, ear plugs, hair net, beard cover and uniform when in production area.
  • Physical Lifting required in the form of plastic and metal drums, totes, and various equipment. Ladder climbing and forklift operation to retrieve stock. The lifting can be between 2530Kg and/or roll drums weighting 80 kilos which occurs 25% of the day.
  • Overtime may be required based on production volumes
  • Cross training will be conducted as time permits to increase knowledge of other production positions.
  • Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.
  • Assures compliance by following Food and Drug Administration's Good Manufacturing Practices as well as other regulatory standards as required by the department.
  • Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:


  • Prior knowledge in a manufacturing environment using hand, electric jack and/or forklift
  • Ability to read a batch record
  • Ability to understand basic metrics system, e.g. kilograms vs. pounds.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  • Ability to stay focused on extreme detail

  • Highly motivated individual.
  • Must be able to lift bags up to 30 Kilos and roll drum up to 180 kilos for 25% of the day.

Education:


  • High School Diploma or GED.

Pay:
From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
