Job Description
Job DescriptionDefinition: The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) I/II/III provides a variety of administrative, clinical nursing, health education, and outreach services within the community health center. Basic skills for physical assessment include observation, auscultation, palpation and percussion. Basic mental status assessment includes observation of general behavior, appearance and attitude, collection of data relative to sensorium or orientation to time, person and place, and assessment of recall ability. When the LVN notes a problem, complication or abnormality, he/she must notify the physician or Registered Nursing Supervisor under whose direction the licensee functions. The LVN cannot independently evaluate or synthesize data.
Reports to: Direct & Administrative: Registered Nursing Supervisor or Program Manager Professional/Technical: Director of Nursing Services Varied and depends on Clinical Area (Women's Health: Public Health Services & Programs, etc.)
Lead Duties:
May lead a team of Medical Assistants, Team Clerks, Community Health Workers, and other unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate.
Qualifications:
