Part TimeLocation: Association OfficeDescriptionThe Greater Boston YMCA is seeking a Licensed Social Worker (LICSW) to support our Child Development teams with training and implementation of positive behavioral supports and interventions, as well as overseeing the SEL teams that have been in place within our network.
The LICSW will exhibit expertise in working with families and youth at risk with an understanding of child behavior and knowledge of setting up supports and interventions for student success in and out of school time environment.
The LICSW will be dedicated to advancing the safety, health, and productivity of children in our Out of School environments and summer camps.
Key ResponsibilitiesSpecific responsibilities may include:
Supervision visits with our in-house SEL team members and serving to consult, train, and build capacity within the team, as needed.
Support Master of Social Work (MSW) interns, as needed.Assess the social-emotional needs of children and make referrals for services, support, and resources Provide on-site and virtual support to program staff around positive behavior guidance through training, modeling, and coaching.
Support meetings with parents, families, social workers, and wrap-around team members, as needed. Facilitate staff support meetings and professional development, as needed. Attend meetings with organization's partners such as school districts, local mental health agencies, etc. Connect with community organizations to gather resources and build partnerships. Travel between sites as needed, though most work will be offered remotely. Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseQualified candidates will possess an upbeat, mission focused, can-do attitude.The ideal candidate will have:
Compassion for supporting children and families. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lead and experience in leadership. Strong case management, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of school-age children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Demonstrated professional skills in staff development, program goal setting, and establishing procedures for evaluating the progress of individual children and staff.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in social work plus a minimum of two years' experience working with school-age children. (Or similar criteria as set by Child Development staff.) Licensed Social Work (LICSW) distinction. Experienced in leadership and overseeing staff.
