What You Will Do

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
  • Coursework to include information systems, management, accounting/finance and quantitative skills.
  • 7 years IT work experience including managing teams responsible for infrastructure/network/telecommunication operations.
  • 5 years increasingly responsible information technology project/program management experience.
  • 3 years' experience in a complex, multientity health care system that included a broad scope of technical, professional and/or management experience with extensive interaction at all levels of management and staff.

Other Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant experience may be substituted

Essential Functions

  • General Duties & Responsibilities.
Leads the development of processes to incorporate the principles of successful information technology into daily and periodic management.
Successfully manages concurrent projects throughout Sharp HealthCare in support of system objectives and departmental strategies, ensuring timely completion.
Investigates and resolves complex problems and coordinates efforts to support strategies and provide innovative solutions.
Monitors and reports overall performance of information systems on a regular basis to ensure quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
Manages the IS departmental budget in a manner that is consistent with the operational objectives of Sharp Information Services. Ensures that expenditures are within the financial guidelines established in the capital and operating budgets.
Evaluates vendor proposals for software, hardware and technical services to assure adherence to technical guidelines and standards.
Communicates the Sharp HealthCare vision, goals and strategies to build awareness and commitment within the department. Maintains open communication channels to keep staff adequately informed.
Responsible for human resources functions, including interviewing, hiring, counseling, appraising, and terminating employees. Identifies personnel development needs, provides training opportunities, and conducts annual reviews for employees. Promotes staff retention and career development.
Develops, implements, and monitors policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.

  • Database & Windows based computing Management
Directs database & windows based platform, architecture and infrastructure technologies to develop strategic direction and plans for database & windows based systems to support daily operations as well as future organizational change

Develop and manage annual capital and operating budgets and recommends the staffing and related resources needed to support the telecommunications cost center(s).

Promote effective and efficient communication among all entities, staff, patients, physicians and communities through regular review of enterprise growth initiatives and changing cultures.

Maintain business relationships with key vendors
Develops technology standards and ensures adherence to them for support, development and operations.

Monitor industry trends and changing database & windows base computing environment, cost models and strategies to optimize cost to support the business needs.


  • Device/Application Integration
  • Quality of Service. Assures that Staff provides high quality customer service through continuous relationships with users and assessing needs and levels of satisfaction as measured by (1) customer feedback and Senior Information Systems Management, both written and oral, for major projects completed by the Group and (2) Annual Information Systems Quality of Service Surveys. Installs and maintains high quality networks to achieve stated business objectives of customers served.
  • Planning and Coordination. Effectively plans and coordinates available resources to complete large and small projects, with particular emphasis on attention to detail and minimizing unexpected project outcomes.
  • Communication. Effectively communicates with all levels of Sharp HealthCare management and staff, customers, and outside vendors. Provides clear written and oral information to customers to keep them apprised of project developments.
  • Staff Development. Provides training, development, support, and counsel to subordinates to assure achievement of goals and objectives. Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions such as merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
