Reporting to the Underground Superintendent, the Project Foreman's responsibility is to provide leadership and supervise the / Rural Electric employees and 2nd tier subcontractors on a project.

The incumbent must be able to complete the work on schedule, within the defined budget and to the quality of workmanship specified by the company's or project owner's project plans.

In the performance of this duty, it is the Project Foreman's responsibility to protect and promote Rural Electric and the project owner's interests in all matters on a project and to do whatever is reasonably necessary to discharge their duties and responsibilities which include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:


Workplace:

Workplace is intended to extend to and include any company-owned facility and/or property, contracted job site, and/or any other private (including a personal residence if working from home) or public property the Company conducts business; including third-party facilities where the employees may be conducting company business, fulfilling their work-related duties or assignments, and/or company-sponsored recreation, events, or training.


Primary Job Duties include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for providing leadership to a project while establishing and maintaining harmonious working relationships of the onsite field production staff (including subcontractors) and to promote positive project morale.
  • Responsible for supervising total construction effort to ensure all projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, etc.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising onsite functions, (scheduling, engineering, material control and usage, manage and monitor proper use of equipment (rented or owned) etc.).
  • Responsible for supervising craft employees and/or other 2nd tier subcontractors as required by the contract or project plan specifications.
  • Responsible for training subordinate employees on the proper work standards and techniques for performing assigned tasks in a safe manner. This training includes the proper use of hand tools and other small equipment or machinery typically on a job site.
  • Responsible for review/compilation of subordinate's administrative paperwork (time records, daily reports, JHA/THA safety reports, bluestake, redliners, closeout documents, periodic billings, etc.). Primarily responsible for the timely submission of these records to the company's main office as necessary.
  • Responsible for compiling and submitting all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, RFI, RFC, ASI, ESI, etc.
  • Responsible for providing technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, plan survey markings and recommending construction materials, methods and equipment as required.
  • Responsible for assisting project management and project estimators in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, schedules, submittals, and other standard administrative tasks needed on a project.
  • Responsible for ensuring all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements and work rules.
  • Responsible for documenting all violations, notifying project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
  • Responsible for assuming accountability for the productivity on all assigned Rural Electric employees, craftsman, Rural 2nd tier subcontractors assigned to the project.
  • Responsible for ensuring efficient use of labor, materials & equipment, and contractual performance and compliance of the project.
  • Responsible for Maintain communication with other home office departments (i.e., Project Management, Purchasing, Quality Control, Fleet & Equipment, Safety) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
  • Responsible for reviewing and inspecting all deliveries of materials to ensure orders are correct. Promptly notify the project engineer/project manager if orders are incorrect or if the wrong materials were delivered to the job site.
  • Responsible to comply and perform additional assignments / tasks per field management direction.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience include but may not be limited to:

  • Employees must have a minimum of 2 years of construction supervision experience or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and supervisory skills required.
