KIND OF WORK:
Direction may be provided by the IT Director/IT Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Upgrades network and infrastructure systems
- Maintains VDI environments for local and remote users.
- Tests and monitors systems.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Any combination of education and/or work experience that is equivalent to graduation from an accredited community college with major course work in electronic technology.
- Three to five years of related experience.
- General knowledge of telephone systems and installation standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of networks and infrastructure.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network security theory.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools and testing equipment.
- Ability to keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Ability to operate personal computers and related software used for communications.
Comparable training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work entails exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
- Work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
- Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, peripheral vision, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arm's length, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
- Must reside within 30 minutes of the Berkeley County Courthouse.
- Must be available for scheduled "oncall" during some weekends and holidays.
