The German Railway is one of the most diverse employers in Germany. Every year, we are looking for over 5,000 apprentices in 50 different professions who want to grow and improve with us.

Starting on September 1st, 2024, we are looking for you to join our 3-year apprenticeship program as a Track Builder / Civil Engineering Specialist (m/f/d) for DB InfraGO AG at our location in Darmstadt. During the practical phases, you will support your team at the Darmstadt base. In addition, you will attend the BBS Technik II vocational school in Ludwigshafen and our training workshops (1st year in Frankfurt, 2nd and 3rd year in Ludwigshafen). The theoretical phases will take place in block form. You will receive free company travel tickets for your commute and, if needed, a student ticket for Hesse. If necessary, we will also assist with finding accommodation. In addition, some trainings and seminars will take place digitally or online. As a Track Builder, you will have varying working hours, but night and weekend shifts will only be expected after completing the apprenticeship.
What to expect during your apprenticeship:
  • You will be working outdoors with your team on construction sites, maintaining our tracks
  • Together, you will work on tracks and switches, inspecting them for any faults and replacing damaged parts
