- You'll support the commitment of the YMCA to child abuse prevention by:
- Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children.
- Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
- Complete all child abuse prevention training as required.
- Speaking to members to learn about their health goals and dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions.
- Developing nutrition plans for members.
- Compiling information and tracking member progress towards their health goals.
- Keeping informed about the latest discoveries in nutrition.
- Speaking to groups to promote healthy eating habits and proper nutrition.
- Provide nutrition education and counseling for members and participants in our evidence-based and other health initiatives.
- Review food logs.
- Take and record weigh-ins.
- Use platforms such as Zoom to conduct virtual meetings.
- Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming.
- Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly.
- Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.
- At least two years of related experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field or recognized nutrition certification from an accredited institution.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience with data entry and data analysis.
- Strong problem solving, project management and organization skills.
- Must be a Registered Dietitian.
- CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days.
- Praesidium Academy trainings.
- Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
- Experience using virtual platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.)

Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
The Nutrition Coach will oversee the nutritional well-being of their clients. They will conduct nutrition assessments and create diet plans. They will evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and use metrics to implement data-driven improvements. The Nutrition Coach will actively keep up with the latest nutritional research, integrating new findings into diet plans and nutritional services. They provide nutrition education to members. The Nutrition Coach will collaborate with physicians, therapists and nurses, when needed, in order to tailor dietary services and improve patient outcomes.

Pay range: $16.00-$20.00 per hour, dependent on certification/education
