An Account Manager is responsible for the retention of existing accounts and development of additional accounts. An Account Manager must be a proven business developer, with a particular flair for winning and nurturing key accounts. The Account Manager's primary focus will be the development of new accounts to maintain the growth of the team. This individual must focus on revenue growth with existing accounts through the development of new lanes and business segments.
The candidate must have verifiable sales history in the logistics industry, power only experience is an added value.. We require the candidate to have a book of business, customer connections and experience pricing freight on the spot market. A college degree, preferably in business or logistics is always a plus.
The skills required to carry out this job are:
Ability to work in team-oriented environment while maintaining individual workload
Ability to multi-task, work under moderately stressful situations and meet deadlines
Excellent telephone skills (inbound and outbound) and the understanding that the bulk of your day will be on the phone soliciting business from existing and prospective new customers.
Self-motivated personality, with an eye for detail
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of the internet, email and other software
Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a fast paced environment
Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
Strong verbal and written communication skills
