Overview:

Pembina US Corporation's Channahon, Illinois office is recruiting for a Business Operations Analyst to join the team.

This position reports to the Supervisor, Process in the Natural Gas Liquids Business Unit (NBU), part of Pembina's Facilities Division.


NBU is involved in the Fractionation, Terminaling & Storage, and Logistics and Distribution of specification natural gas liquids throughout north America.

Natural Gas Liquids are components of natural gas classified by weight and number of carbon atoms - Methane (C1), Ethane (C2), Propane (C3) Butane (C4) and Condensate (mixture of C5+).

Fractionation involves separating the different products in an NGL mix out into Ethane, Propane and Butane.


The Operations Business Analyst is responsible for conducting production data evaluation/analysis in a technical environment related to gas plant processes and in liaison with various inter-company departments as well as other business partners.

This includes production calculation and tracking, monitoring, and tracking of Key Performance Indicators across Engineering and Operations, and the preparation and reconciliation of various reports, including the Daily and Monthly Production.


Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Develop, evaluate and analyze Key Performance Indicators;
  • Develop and distribute daily operation scorecards;
  • Track production status as it pertains to corporate factors;
  • Track and account for lost production time due to plant upsets, external issues or similar;
  • Assist in performing cost benefit analysis for operational scenarios and capital projects;
  • Prepare recommendations that drive increased revenue or reduced cost;
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum High School Diploma; with a preference for postsecondary education such as a Bachelor of Science degree with technical major, and business minor; or business major with technical minor;
  • 2+ years' experience in the processing industry (such as gas plant, refinery, and/or petrochemical environments);
  • Excel, Word and PowerPoint with an emphasis on Excel;
  • Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud and/or Microsoft Power BI is considered an asset;
  • Experience with highlevel programming i.e. C+, Python, VBA etc. is also an asset but not required;
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to interpret, recognize and flag patterns, and trends within large data sets;
  • Capable of managing a diverse workload, while juggling multiple tasks and priorities;
  • Proven track record of working as a collaborative team member but also working independently with mínimal supervision; and
