- 1-3 years experience in well-being, health promotion, prevention, education, and/or early intervention work.

- Clinical experience or background in the area of suicide prevention, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and/or interpersonal violence.
- Experience in college/university settings in the areas of Health Promotion, Prevention, and Early Intervention.
- Experience with and knowledge about issues relevant to well-being prevention, education, and early intervention with the college student population.
- Certified Health Education Specialist Credential (CHES).
- Planning and implementation of programs and services that address health promotion, prevention, and early intervention around the eight dimensions of wellness, specifically topics such as mental health, alcohol/drugs, interpersonal violence, and integrated wellness.
- Planning and implementation of, as well as responding to requests for outreach programs that address health promotion, prevention, and early intervention around the eight dimensions of wellness, specifically topics such as mental health, alcohol/drugs, interpersonal violence, and integrated wellness.
- Staff, Division, and Collaborative campus and community partnerships; participation in professional development; university-wide committees, strategic planning, program planning, and evaluation of services.

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:Student Health Services (SHS) provides primary and mental health care for UNC Greensboro
students. As a health organization operating within an academic institution, we are committed

Our mission is to provide collaborative health care designed to empower students to develop lifelong skills that enhance their physical, psychological, and wellness status in an inclusive and affirming environment and promote student success and retention.
Student Health Services:
The Well-being Specialist for Health Promotion, Prevention, and Early Intervention is responsible for promoting and providing services and programming around the eight dimensions of wellness, designed to challenge and support students' personal growth, academic success, and well-being. Services and programming will be focused on the promotion of well-being, as well as prevention, early intervention, bystander intervention, and recovery for concerns such as interpersonal violence, suicide prevention and mental health, sexual health, alcohol, and other drugs. The well-being specialist will ensure that programming and services are fully engaged in, compliant with, and leading national best practices and other industry standards related to the field. The Well-being Specialist will conduct appropriate assessments to identify and better understand the attitudes, habits, and environmental risk factors within the community. Research and maintain current web-based and text resources. Serve on university-wide and/or departmental committees as appropriate. Engage in long-term strategic planning within the DSA for this functional area. Supervise interns or graduate assistants in the areas of wellness. Collaborate with the Associate Director to complete annual reports and other assessment needs. Collaborate and work in an integrated manner with all other wellness and well-being areas on campus to provide seamless programming and services through the intersection of topics such as mental health, alcohol, drugs, interpersonal violence, and integrated wellness.
Minimum Qualifications:Existing Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), OR open to earning CHES credential upon hire.
