The Opportunity


Abt seeks a Qualitative Research Analyst to support our work across a range of issues including healthcare, housing, workforce development, environment, and education.


The selected individual may work in one of our offices (Rockville, MD, Cambridge, MA, Durham NC, Atlanta, GA), as a full-time telecommuter, or choose a hybrid of in-office work and telecommuting.


Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and mixed methods research and analysis on a range of topics
  • Contribute to written products, including technical reports, briefs, and other accessible formats for nontechnical audiences
  • Participate in project teams in roles such as analyst, or task lead
  • Assist with managing project delivery including budgets, schedules, project deliverables, client relationships, and collaborating with team members
  • Contribute to business development activities and proposals for federal, state, local, and philanthropic clients as a technical writer or proposal manager

  • Demonstrated ability to produce clearly written research and/or policy papers.
  • Strong commitment and aptitude in working collaboratively in teams
  • Demonstrated technical skills in qualitative data collection, analysis and/or policy analysis. May have technical skills with software packages (e.g., NVivo), although not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or Master's Degree
