Schedule:
Full Time / Day (some required flexibility to accommodate various shifts/joint visits)


Shift:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:30pm


Location:605 MONTGOMERY ROAD, Altamonte Springs, Altamonte based with some travel to Flagler and Volusia Counties as well as Seminole, Orange, and Osceola Counties).


The role you will contribute to:

The Clinical Education Specialist is responsible for providing clinical expertise in hospice to optimize patient/family, nurse and system outcomes and is responsible for the management of the development and delivery of the internal educational programs for the organization including orientation and continuing education.


The value you will bring to the team:

  • Provides direction for the Education activities, services, programs, and plans.
  • Develops, updates and recommends the policies and procedures for delivery of educational training and orientation to staff and volunteers to comply with mandated regulations and organizational goals.
  • Monitors and evaluates clinical practice and identifies growth needs of the clinical staff. Implements and evaluates a plan to address clinical staff, growth and development needs through continuing education training to clinical staff and as mandated by the state, federal government and the organization as a requirement for employment. Coordinates guest instructors when training focus is outside the educators' expertise.
  • Identify problematic systems/process issues, develops plans to improve and monitors outcomes. Develops/implements process improvement and/or clinical best practice initiatives at the organizational and department level. Acts as a change agent, evaluates environment for change readiness and develops and implements plans for change using research and evidence based practice. Monitors change driven outcomes.
  • Serves as the educational resource to management team and participates to assess procedure, technique and quality and develops and implements plans for process improvement.
  • Ensures proper and timely orientation of all new staff.

A


Education and Training:

Master's degree in training and development or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Administrator.

B


Experience:

A minimum of 7 years in training and development or related field is required. In addition, a minimum of 1 year(s) supervisory experience is required. Healthcare experience, preferred.

C


Certificates and Licenses Required:

A clear/active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license is required. Certified Hospice and Palliative Nursing Certification is preferred.
