- Provide youth outreach and engagement in New Rochelle neighborhoods;
- Offer mentorship to youth impacted by community violence;
- Advocate for youth to connect them with resources;
- Develop and facilitate youth-led community projects;
- Support day-to-day program operations and relationships with partners;
- Engage youth in community organizing projects and workshops;
- Participate in violence prevention initiatives and community events;
- Represent the Justice Center at city-wide events;
- Attend and engage in various trainings, meetings, and workshops.
- Experience with restorative justice principles and conflict resolution preferred;
- Ability to work with diverse backgrounds in a culturally-responsive manner;
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience with healing-centered models;
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus;
- Strong commitment to social justice and anti-oppressive practice.

JOB OPPORTUNITY
The New Rochelle Community Justice Center is looking for a part-time Program Associate to join their team. This position reports to the Program Coordinator and involves supporting the Community Youth Violence Intervention Initiative (CYVII) and alternative to incarceration programs, focusing on providing mentorship to emerging adults and assisting with community organizing efforts in New Rochelle.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree, knowledge of youth mentorship, violence prevention, and community organizing strategies. Strong written communication and administrative skills are desired, along with a deep understanding of New Rochelle communities and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse agencies and organizations. Previous experience with restorative justice, mentoring youth, and a commitment to social justice are important.
Position Type: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
Position Location: New Rochelle, NY
Compensation: The base pay for this role is $35.44 per hour based on a 35-hour work week and will be based on experience.
