Description
MedStar Health is looking for a Cardiovascular Technologist to join our MedStar Georgetown University Hospital teamSchedule:
Day shift Monday - Friday 7:00 am -5:30 pm and/or 6:30 am -5:00 pm, 4 x 10hr shifts, change as needed for scheduling needs.
Procedures include angiogram, bronchoscopy, bone marrow harvest, L/R heart caths , fistulagram , insertion of IVC filters/loop records, and renal biopsies.
These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
Performs assorted patient care responsibilities for adults, including starting IV's, EKG monitoring, cardiac outputs, and prepping and draping patients.
R & L heart catheterizations, PTCA, intra-aortic-balloon pump, permanent/temporary pacemakers, AICD, electrophysiology studies, pericardiocentesis , peripheral arteriograms and angioplasty, etc.
Performs quality control functions of the X-ray console/equipment before procedures. Runs tapes, Digital Subtraction Acquisition, and image processing. Records and interprets hemodynamic data using Sensis's monitoring system. Prepares all the equipment, sets up the field for all cases and cleans room for the next procedure.Participates in the orientation, training and in-services for cardiovascular technologists and other staff in the department. Assists with the inventory, ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment for the Cath Lab. Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities .
EKG/hemodynamic monitoring .
