Center For Youth and Community Development (CFYCD) is the home of Collaborating for Youth (CFY).

CFY was born out of a desire on the part of community residents and leaders to make community-wide changes that would improve the lives and futures of youth in Adams County.

Our mission is to develop the positive potential of youth within safe, supportive families and communities.

In 2018 CFYCD became the provider for Century 21st Afterschool funding which significantly expands the 21st Century programs in Adams County through a partnership with Respective Solutions Group.

CFYCD continues to act as a conduit when appropriate for bringing grants and programs into the community that build the capacity of CFY to fulfill its mission.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Programs Manager to join our team.

The Academic Programs Manager will be vital in designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that align with the requirements of the C21 Afterschool grant through the PA Department of Education.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Academic Programs Manager is involved throughout the curriculum development and integration process.

This position works with the Program Director, Associate Director, and Executive Director to design, implement, and evaluate K-6th grade after-school academic curriculum per the C-21 grant guidelines of the PA Department of Education.

The Academic Programs Manager chooses the appropriate materials and resources and assists teachers in lesson planning and communicating that information to students.

This position is the lead content developer, aligning the school-day academic curriculum to Reading, STEM, hands-on learning, and instructional support during out-of-school time.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the implementation of various federally funded academic grant programs.
  • Collect and report the grantrequired student test data.
  • Assess and discuss curriculum standards to create programs that support the school day curriculum, complimenting outofschool time projects.
  • Research and utilize trends in instructional methods and educational technology to train teachers and other instructional staff in new content or technology.
  • Develop procedures for teachers to implement curriculum and content, and provide feedback based on individual observations and student performance data.
  • Teach staff to align/adapt and support student IEPs and learning.
  • Observe the work of teaching staff and paraprofessionals to evaluate performance and mentor teachers and coordinators in skill improvement.
  • Promote parent and caregiver engagement activities.
  • Establish a conduit between schoolday staff, outofschool time staff, and caregivers.
  • Other duties as assigned, within the scope of practice.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:


Education:
Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree preferred.


Experience:
A minimum of five years of curriculum development, instructional design, and/or teaching experience at the primary level is required.


Skills and Abilities:


  • Demonstrated understanding of best practices in curriculum and instruction, instructional design, and online learning.
  • Experience supervising instructors, including, but not limited to, reviewing, and providing feedback on their curriculum and instruction.
  • Experience working with ESL is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, as well as instructional technology tools, including learningmanagement systems, and collaboration tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear, informative, and professional communication with stakeholders, including students, parents, and primary educators.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to drive a car to 13 afterschool sites, meetings, and trainings.

Pay:
$52, $57,000.00 per year
