A FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer Duties Will Include:

  • Create computer-generated full-color graphics and/or vinyl output that can be printed and mounted to a substrate or weeded, cut and applied
  • Complete or modify designs from customer drawings, files, or exact output of customerprovided design for output to media
  • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type, and arrange layout based upon available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
  • Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to output. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurate
  • Maintain customer logo library; convert graphic files.
  • Follow a layout to place computercut vinyl or fullcolor graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
  • Weed excess vinyl from computercut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
  • Operate and maintain printer(s), vinyl plotters and laminators
  • Perform quality assurance measures pre
- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards

  • Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
  • Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee
  • Clean and maintain storage areas
  • Perform sign installations independently and/or with support from fellow team members

Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer:

  • 1-2 years of graphic design experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
  • Ability to prioritize jobs, multitask, and work autonomously
  • Determine the best output method based on the customer's needs
  • Sit and view a computer screen for long periods (4 hours or more)
  • Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, highquality work
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
  • Ability to use light power equipment
  • Ability to perform installation tasks while working on a step ladder
