    About This Role


    This is a rare opportunity to join the Biostatistics function at Biogen, an established pioneer in biotechnology The Director of Biostatistics is responsible for leading complex or integrated study design and analysis across one or my programs to enable quality portfolio decision making.


    The Director of Biostatistics is a key program-level interface with stakeholders across multiple disciplines and ensures quality clinical development plans and data-driven decisions.


    The Director of Biostatistics provides coaching and development to other statisticians and contributes to process improvement initiatives and other strategic efforts of the Biostatistics organization.

    What You'll Do
    Provide statistical and drug development expertise to specific drug development programs
    Coach and supervise a small team ( Engage proactively with Biogen and partner stakeholders on issues of clinical development planning, clinical trial design, trial execution, and analysis planning, execution, and interpretation
    Bring strategic and innovative solutions which help increase probability of success and/or reduce development cycle time
    Proactively communicate and partner with senior leadership to enable portfolio governance and decision making
    5-10 bullets highlighting the most important key duties for this role

    You thrive in a cross-functional, matrix environment and are able to influence both horizontally and vertically to deliver results for patients while developing members of your team.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills
    Ph.
    D. in statistics or biostatistics and at least 8 years' experience in drug development, clinical research, or closely related field
    Minimum two years' experience at comparable level within a pharma or biotech organization
    Proficiency in leading and developing a team of direct reports
    Excellent communication skills
    Technical proficiency in frequentist and Bayesian applications to clinical trials and drug development

    Preferred Skills
    Experience in first-in-human, proof-of-concept, and confirmatory clinical trials (i.e., Ph1, 2, and 3 experience)
    Experience in design, analysis, and execution of platform/basket/umbrella trials
    Experience in direct interactions with FDA or EMA
    Experience in immunology, neuroscience, or rare disease
    Proficiency in R
    Significant business acumen
    High interest and ability to learn new techniques and application areas
