- Supervise all child nutrition department personnel such that the Edmond Public Schools Child Nutrition department contributes effectively to the health and well-being of all of its students.
- Direct and assess the activities of assistants to ensure that their tasks and responsibilities are executed in a quality, professional manner in accordance with established plans and timelines.
- Coordinate the department's operations and activities; cooperate with other departments and school sites on matters of organization-wide goals and initiatives or mutual concerns.
- Be informed and knowledgeable of state and federal child nutrition standards and guidelines. Prepare accurate federal reports and oversee meal application processes for review by local, state and federal agencies.
- Develop a marketing plan that promotes and communicates the school nutrition services to students, parents, other school personnel and the community.
- Assure internal controls are established, maintained and documented in compliance with organizational directives.
- Ensure oversight of employment procedures and employment recommendations.
- Inspect all school kitchens and dining areas routinely to insure that standards of efficiency, food quality, cleanliness, health, and safety are being maintained.
- Standardize cafeteria accounting procedures and perform periodic site audits of cafeteria accounts.
- Exercise oversight of the procurement, processing and storage of all USDA commodity foods.
- Facilitate budget development, planning and allocation of resources to maintain a self-supporting, cost effective program.
- Prepare bid specifications for the purchase of food products and equipment in compliance with state and district procurement guidelines.
- Supervise menu development, the menu planning process, as well as menu and nutritional analysis of meals.
- Serve as a consultant to principals and teachers in the areas of food nutrition.
- Work with student advisory groups to promote nutrition awareness and receive suggestions regarding student's preferred foods.
- Keep students and parents informed of the menus and services offered by the school food services program.
- Assess customer preference, industry trends and current research to develop a long-range plan that facilitates continuous program improvement.

- Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum), Master's preferred with primary focus in an area of nutrition, food service or nutrition education.
- Previous Experience: Prefer minimum of five (5) years management in a large-scale institutional food service program.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative, and follow state and district guidelines
- Must obtain and maintain a sanitation certificate.

JOB SUMMARY
To lead the Edmond Public Schools Child Nutrition Program in a manner which provides healthy, nutritious, highly palatable, high-quality meals in such a way that the program remains financially sound and self-sufficient.
Perform as a leader such that the Edmond Public Schools Child Nutrition department contributes to the health and well-being of all of its students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EVALUATION The performance of this job will be evaluated by the Executive Director of Operations in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies and state law.
