QUALITY SYSTEMS COORDINATOR
Position Description:
The Quality Systems Coordinator is responsible for championing, improving and maintaining our AS9100 aerospace certification to the latest revision. He or She is also responsible for reviewing, updating and simplifying our QMS manual, controlled forms, process and procedures, management reviews, trainings and work instructions. The individual leads internal, surveillance, recertification, and customer audits. He or she is a team player who is will stand behind our commitment to quality, products, services and the talent at State Seal Company. He or she must have the ability to multitask, organize and manage priorities as well as communicate clearly and concisely with customers, suppliers and employees through both written and verbal means. All quality issues are directed to the Quality Systems Coordinator for quick acknowledgement and resolution through the use of CAR, SCAR, ICAR, 8D, 5 Why and/or Fishbone documents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All AS9100 requirements and responsibilities.
- Keeping the Quality Management System Updated and Implemented per AS9100.
- Champion State Seal Company's AS9100 certification and audits.
- Support of New Applications and participate in Design Review.
- Provide interpretation/clarity of customer requirements, drawings & GD&T, quality notes and MIL, AMS, SAE & NAS specifications.
- Manage and implement process improvements through use of PARs, CARs & internal audits and coordinate efforts to eliminate issues and non-conformances.
- Champion the activities required to support customer, internal and AS9100 audits.
- Lead department training programs and update training records when necessary for new and existing associates.
- Assist Sales and Marketing to resolve customer concerns or complaints from a quality standpoint.
- Manage failure analysis (FMEA) activities and work closely with Manufacturing Manager to develop preventative actions.
- Support QC with answering advanced questions on AS9102 First Article (FAIR), DIP's, PPAP Reports, and proper selection and use of inspection equipment.
- Process and champion CARs, SCARs, ICARs, 8D's accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain good communication and working relationships with department managers, suppliers and customers.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Advanced knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
· Basic knowledge of inspection hand tools and measurement equipment.
· Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. (GD&T)
· Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings/blue prints.
· Strong confidence with owning and processing SCARs, ICARs, 8D, Fishbone, Ishikawa (Fishbone Diagram), 5 Why, objective supporting evidence, containment, root cause, corrective and preventative actions.
· Ability to read and interpret customer quality requirements and MIL, AMS, NAS, SAE, etc., specifications.
· Knowledge of AIAG 4th edition PPAP's, and how to create acceptable submissions for the customer is a plus.
· Strong ability to lead and prepare SSC for successful AS9100, internal and customer audits.
· Automotive Quality Control/Assurance background is a plus.
· Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Minitab.
· Strong leadership skills, ability to lead without expressed authority.
· Knowledge and ability to write process flow charts, control plans and PFMEAs.
· Ability to interface with all departments.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong team building skills.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE (FINAL DETERMINATION BY HIRING MANAGER):
- Bachelor's Degree / Or 7+ Years Experience in Field
- 2+ years' experience in a quality leadership role, preferable in the Aerospace or Automotive industry.
