Key Requirements

Physical Demands:


The work requires some physical exertion, such as long period of walking, standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching and a recurring need to lift moderately heavy items.


Work Environment:


Work is performed mostly in an office setting, however, may be required to work in the presence of moving parts, carts, machines, high electrical voltage, and construction work sites.

Major Duties:


  • Operates and maintains field office facilities, to include physical structures, utilities, surrounding grounds, roadways, outside barriers, as well as programs and services essential to maintaining a safe, healthy and comfortable facility.
  • Performs a variety of administrative services in order to inspect, maintain, repair/modify facilities, and to operate facility programs and services efficiently.
  • Revises, alters, or completely redesigns existent graphic layouts to ensure most practical, functional and cost effective approach for the field office.
  • Coordinates the evaluation of all building maintenance, alterations, deficiencies, and repairs such as: electricity, air conditioning, heating, telephones, elevator service and special equipment maintained in office space. Conduct onsite inspections and create "punch lists" for repairs, etc.
  • Determines and projects funding requirements and justifies budget requests. Assist in developing a budget, monitoring budgetary expenditures and blanket purchase agreements.
  • Liaisons with FBIHQ entities, to facilitate and coordinate sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF) renovation and buildingout requirements; to contact and obtain funding for office furniture and equipment; and provide drawings and requirements for the layout and procurement of office spaces.
  • Serves as the point of contact for all the General Services Administration (GSA) issues pertaining to the field office.
  • Coordinates the administration of space acquisitions, building operations, maintenance, movement/relocation, and destruction of confidential trash. Secures engineering surveys or outside bids and initiates appropriate requests through FBIHQ, GSA, etc. Monitor work performed by contractors according to standard specifications. Assess quality and completeness of work so operations are not interrupted.
  • Coordinates with FBIHQ the negotiating and administering of lease agreements, including operating and maintenance agreements.
  • Organizes and attends meetings/conferences with GSA, lessors, OSHA officials and a variety of building management personnel, to discuss building maintenance, safety and fire regulations, environmental quality, facilities, operations, standards, and other tenant matters.
  • Coordinates all applicable facility matters with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Ensure that all OSHA rules and regulations are complied with and/or implemented.

Specialized Experience (SE):


GS-11: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level.


SE is defined as follows:

  • Assisted with negotiating and/or administering lease agreements and/or maintenance agreements.
  • Determined and projected funding requirements for facility projects and/or generated cost estimates for projects.
  • Experienced with electrical, HVAC, masonry, carpentry, fire safety, plumbing and hydraulics sufficient to consider technical aspects relating to construction, operation, maintenance, and/or renovation of a facility.
  • Analyzed facility and equipment requirements with customer needs and enhanced cur
