Vice President of Procurement

Location:
McCoy Group, Dubuque, IA


Report to:
VP of Procurement, Facilities, and Audit


This position will be domiciled in Dubuque, Iowa, and is responsible for managing and sourcing products and services within a multi-division transportation group. Duties include establishing and maintaining supplier relations, buying program development, internal compliance, contract negotiation, cost analysis details, and creating a buying strategy using business division synergies that meets company budget guidelines. This includes monitoring delivery times from suppliers to company locations and training purchasing staff members to carry out purchasing tasks.


Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements and Education, Skills, and Knowledge required:

Join Our Team as a VP of Procurement

  • Able to travel 20% or more of the time
  • Supervise procurement team and daytoday departmental function. Delegate tasks across the department.
  • Develop sound, costeffective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business
  • Conduct cost analyses.
  • Set benchmarks and oversee all KPIs to measure progress
  • Use problemsolving skills, interpret data, organize, plan, and communicate by speaking and writing
  • Make decisions based on logic and company protocol and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, is a plus
