- Prepare and serve menu items as outlined on the menu cycle provided by the Director of Food Services.
- Schedule, assign, and direct the daily duties of Assistant Kitchen Manager, cooks, and cook helpers under their supervision.
- Determine and requisition supplies needed for preparation and service of menu items in a manner determined by consultation with the director of food services.
- Keep the equipment, food preparation, and food storage areas in a clean, organized, and workable fashion at all times.
- Keep an accurate record of data deemed necessary for the school district's participation in the National School Lunch Program.
- Receive, inspect, and sign for food and supplies when delivered.
- Manage food service related concerns with the assistance of the Director of Food Services when necessary.
- Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance and wear district uniforms at all times when performing duties.
- Complete a physical inventory as requested by the Student Nutrition Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, principal, and his/her designee.
- Possess the ability to effectively communicate, verbally, and in written form, with administrators, staff, and the community as needed.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Kitchen Manager will manage and direct the production and service of a hot meal to the students in a specific school or schools.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated aptitude for the successful performance of the tasks listed below, Google Suites, Microsoft Office Suite and certification of ServSafe course as administered by the National Restaurant Association.

The Kitchen Manager will schedule, assign, and direct the daily duties of Assistant Kitchen Manager, cooks, and cook helpers under their supervision.
MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain confidentiality; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to reach, climb, bend, stand, and walk. The employee normally uses hand strength to grasp and hold.
The employee will occasionally lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally carry, move, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
The employee should have good dexterity, hearing, and speech capabilities.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The employee will work in a busy kitchen and occasionally work in conditions of extreme heat or cold.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment will be on an at-will basis for nine-months, beginning with the first day of the work calendar or at the time of employment for the duration of the school year with prorated personal leave.
Each employee will be provided a yearly work calendar showing the specific daily work schedule of the employees. The work calendar may be modifiedby the Board of Education at any time, as needs dictate.
Six and one-half hours will constitute a workday for secondary school Kitchen Managers; six hours will constitute a workday for elementary school Kitchen Managers.
A definite daily schedule will be established by the building Principal and Director of Food Service and approved by the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel.
EVALUATION
End of the year performance evaluations will occur annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support staff personnel.
