The creation of the HHC System Support Office recognizes the work of a large and growing group of employees whose responsibilities are continually evolving so that we and our departments now work on behalf of the system as a whole, rather than a single member organization.

With the creation of our new umbrella organization we now have our own identity with a unique payroll, benefits, performance management system, service recognition programs and other common practices across the system.


Position Summary:


The department of Clinical Informatics leverages our uniquely equipped Physician and Nurse Informaticists to promote and improve the utilization of innovative technologies consistent with the goals and objectives of clinical and strategic initiatives of the organization and to support care transformation.

We serve as liaisons between Clinicians and Information Technology to align clinical standards with IT standards, and develop workflows, processes and policies.

Our teams provide support to our Regions, Institutes, and councils as well as supporting and driving System wide projects that leverage innovation to achieve healthcare transformation.


Position Responsibilities:


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Assist in strategic project movement, including participating in meetings, reviewing documents, aligning resources, and interfacing between the build team and clinical colleagues.
  • Collaborate with project teams on initiatives including building workflows, documenting workflows, and planning meeting agendas.
  • Manage work group meetings and participate in system committees and task forces. Provide advice and support to requestors. Assist with clinical communication, rounding with nursing, and translating clinical requests into actionable SBARs.
  • Analyze data and identify trends to inform the selection and implementation of new technologies and processes.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to guide the clinical teams through the transition to new tools and systems.
  • Advocate for the ethical and responsible use of technology in healthcare, prioritizing patient privacy and security.

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Clinical Specialty. Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or either related field or equivalent work experience

  • Preferred:

MSN, MS, MBA or advance degree in Informatics with major coursework in Clinical Specialty, Computer Science, Analytics or healthcare management.


Experience

  • Minimum:
  • Five years relevant experience in a challenging healthcare environment, including demonstrated successful management of program, teams.
  • Strong analytics skills, written and verbal communication skills and customer service experience in a health care setting.
  • Preferred:
  • Outstanding knowledge of Healthcare clinical operations.
  • Three (35) years Electronic Medical Record experience, Epic preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience with a variety of clinical systems & technologies including mobile devices, remote monitoring, virtual health, analytics and innovation desirable
  • Three (3) years of project leadership experience
  • Experience working with Lean or Six Sigma in a project role.

Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • Minimum:
Active professional licensure (RN, APRN, or other Clinical Specialty) in the State of Connecticut

  • Preferred:
Informatics or other specialty certification in related field. Project Management Professional certification, Change Management Methodology and Change Management Methodology, LEAN
