Residential Chaperones Needed for Ballet Chicago Summer Programs
Ballet Chicago is seeking responsible and attentive residential chaperones to oversee dorm students during our upcoming summer intensive programs.


Position Details:

Salary: $450/week and a travel stipend:


  • Benefits: Room and board at the University Center in downtown Chicago included.

Availability:
Chaperones must be available June 2- July 28 or August 11. Chaperones may not have prior commitments such as classes, part-time jobs, or other conflicts during the program weeks.


Schedule:

Chaperones are temporary independent contractors, and must be available 24 hours per day for the duration of the program.

Chaperones must live in the housing facility with the students and supervise them at all times when the students are not in class.

Chaperones will have designated time off each week, which will always be on weekdays. Time off schedule will be assigned prior to the start of the program. Evenings and weekends are occupied with supervision of the students. Exact schedules may vary.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise dormitory activities for dancers ages 12-20, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all participants.
  • Coordinate check-ins, check-outs, and daily routines for participants, including walking them to and from the studio each day.
  • Coordinate evening and weekend activities for dancers.
  • Address any concerns or issues that arise among participants promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth operation and adherence to program guidelines.
  • Maintain open communication with participants, addressing any questions or needs they may have during their stay.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience working with youth, especially in a residential setting.
  • Valid Red Cross first aid certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Passion for supporting young artists and fostering a positive learning environment.
