POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Quality Control (QC) Specialist is responsible for testing, qualifying, and ensuring the proper condition and operation of all GCV equipment that will be utilized on shows or requested for use by clients.

He/she will set up, activate, and cycle all functional equipment and programs, acting as an operator in the field to ensure that equipment performs as intended.

This role will "qualify" and designate equipment for deployment, working closely with GCV Logistics and Repair to identify items that are not working, have not been tested, or need repair and moving to the correct partners for solution, thereby reducing the need for last minute shipments.

Long term, this position will also work with Repair to test equipment that has returned from vendors for expected performance as well as equipment that has been sent to the shop for repair to qualify for vendor maintenance.

In addition to equipment QC, this position will work with the apprentice group to teach/train them about all types of equipment used on GCV productions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct regular testing and qualification of GCV equipment to ensure proper function and
readiness for use on events or by clients

  • Collaborate with GCV Logistics and Repair teams to identify and address equipment issues,
expediting testing and repair to ensure a timely resolution for deployment when needed

  • Develop a process that designates equipment as usable or in need of attention
  • Work closely with partners to align current deployment and repair processes with quality
control assessment needs and timing

  • Assist repair in creating training materials that inform internal partners on the proper use of
equipment and ways to diagnose functional health of the equipment

  • Work with road teams to help with testing or utilizing equipment in the field
  • Develop and maintain proper testing / QC documentation
  • Communicate common issues to Leadership for action
  • Become a thought partner on new equipment needs and acquisitions


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Baselevel knowledge of broadcast production equipment and software
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments and create new solutions
  • Proven ability to work with external teams to troubleshoot issues
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge
  • Ability to create, manage, and maintain documentation that will be used by others in the
organization


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of work experience in broadcastrelated field or equipment maintenance setting
  • Familiarity with broadcasting equipment highly preferred (i.e. Sony, Canon, Chyron, Videndum
Pan Heads, RTS, Studio Technologies, Matthews)

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with others on common issues to solution
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (or equivalent)
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Onsite, fulltime in Hudson, NH

  • Ability to use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
- peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to walk or stand up to 8 hours at a time
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel on both knees, and climb stairs frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 1050 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to pinch (10 lbs.) and grip (50 lbs.) related broadcast equipment
  • Must be able to maintain a position within a space feet tall up to 1 minute occasionally
  • Ability to horizontally transfer 40 lbs. on a pushpull cart up to 50 feet
  • Ability to vertically transfer 50 lbs. on a pushpull system with upper extremities only from 4.5
6 feet

  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
