Summary:

The Welcome Desk Ambassador is one of the first staff our members and guests see when they enter the Mid-Island Y JCC.

This position greets all individuals who enter and exit the building.


Essential Responsibilities:

• Greet and acknowledge members, guests, and visitors of the MIYJCC
• Answer guest inquiries, and direct them as appropriate
• Administer membership ID cards
• Implement front desk processes and procedures
• Manage member registration system for all members
• Help process payments for programs, classes, swim lessons, etc.
• Keep a clean and neat work environment
• Replace forms, flyers, and membership folders when necessary
• Knowledgeable of current & ongoing programs and events

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Weeknight and Weekend hours are required.


Required Education & Experience and Knowledge and Skills:

• Education related to service/management and/or 2-3 years' office experience a plus
• Must be organized
• Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
• Must be able to work as a part of a team
• Must be able to manage conflict situations
• Must be able to cope with potentially demanding members
• Must be able to take initiative to solve problems or be willing to seek assistance in solving problems
• Must be able to communicate well verbally
• Must be able to handle heavy phones
• Must be able to handle emergency and crisis situations
• Multiple languages a plus
