    $23-$25/hr DOE


    Position Title: Resident Advisor


    Reports to: Program Director/Program Manager


    Summary:
    The Resident Advisor is responsible for facility, vehicles, and clients' safety. They are
    responsible for assisting with the monitoring and maintaining the condition of the facility and
    facility vehicles and all client activities in a safe and orderly manner; and reporting any identified
    facility or vehicle deficits to the Program Director. The RA is responsible for assisting with
    overseeing clients with their daily schedules within the facilities policies and procedures and in
    accordance with Program Rules and the standards of the State and Federal regulations.


    Qualifications:

    • High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
    • A minimum of five (5) years driving experience and at least six (12) months of
    experience in the field of chemical dependency/substance abuse/psychiatric setting or
    human services field is preferred.


    • Valid California Driver's License.
    • Ability to build rapport with clients.
    • Ability to work as a team member and have management, communication, organizational
    and interpersonal skills.


    • Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs.
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Knowledge of Electronic Client Medical Record.
    • Knowledge of Client Program Rules.
    • Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal & Written Communication Skills.
    • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws.
    • Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
    • Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
    • Knowledge of current utilized technology.
    • Knowledge of 12-Step Programs (addiction and recovery)
    Competency must be established upon hire and maintained annually in the following:


    • Urine Drug Screens
    • Vitals
    • Must be physically and mentally able to assist in an emergency.
    • Must have a TB screen, Health Screening, CPR/First Aid Certificate

    Basic Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for understanding company policy and procedures, protocols, and employee
    handbooks.


    • Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to attendance and punctuality.
    • Reports to work as assigned.
    • Maintains utility ready type of business casual dress code.
    • Responsible for understanding requirements for documenting in Electronic Medical
    Record.


    • Assist all staff with the supervision of clients in their daily activities.
    • Ensure the clients follow treatment schedules.
    • Transport clients to and from clinical, medical, and other appointments or other critical
    needs as they arise.


    • Transport clients to and from treatment, shopping, meetings, and appointments as needed.
    • Follow the rounds protocol, viewing and documenting client's activities in real time.
    • Follow companies' client telephone policies.
    • Follow medication management protocol, observe-pass- return protocol; we do not
    disperse any medications.


    • Redirecting and reporting clients if agreement/rules are broken.
    • Responsible for understanding and enforcing program rules at all levels of care.
    • Ensure the RA office and client common areas and bedrooms are clean.
    • General maintenance duties as assigned by Supervisor.
    • Assist with client funds as needed.
    • Arrange housing for new clients coming in, including proper intake procedures and
    communication with the Admissions team for coordination, assisting with transitioning
    clients going to another level of care.


    • Monitor clients if shopping is required.
    • May be required to conduct chemical dependency groups and individual counseling
    sessions.


    • Seeks supervision when clinical concerns arise.
    • Report to work as assigned in the weekly schedule.
    • Maintains acceptable overall attendance.
    • Promotes a favorable/positive work atmosphere.
    • Attends in-services and educational training as necessary and as assigned.
    • Seeks out learning experiences and incorporates new knowledge into practice.
    • Maintains flexibility and adaptability to expected and unexpected changes in the work
    environment.


    • Reports incidents, accidents, and occurrences in accordance with policies and procedures.
    • Maintains safety of the physical environment.
    • Communicate in a professional manner with proper use of telephone etiquette.
    • Perform in a professional manner and role model a positive image of mental health.
    • Understand and adhere to legal guidelines pertaining to client confidentiality and client
    rights.


    • Perform duties independently, taking a proactive approach to problem situations, seeking
    supervision on an as needed basis.


    • Maintains safety of the physical environment.
    • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
