- Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety, operations, business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of safety management experience.
- Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management.
- Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate work under the pressures of tight deadlines.
- Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to constructively interact with all levels of the organization and external partners.
- Proficient with Office programs such as MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Maintain existing and develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules, including OSHA, DOT and other similar agencies.
- Ensure that all departments comply with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Facilitate safety inspections and audits at site and within vehicles to assess facility compliance with safety regulations.
- Tracks and analyzes incident trends and communicates target specific recommendations for improved safety performance companywide.
- Investigates all Worker's Comp and Property and Casualty incidents from a safety perspective to determine root case and develop controls and countermeasures to help prevent recurrences.
- Create and conduct safety related training sessions.
