JOB TITLE:
Safety Supervisor


SUMMARY:


  • Coordinates and administers the Site Heath, Safety Program for multiple projects.
  • Investigates unsafe conditions and incidents, performs plant safety, security and environmental inspections and coordinates the corrective actions towards resolution.
  • Ensure sites of responsibilities comply with Federal, State, and Local Safety Standards.
  • Recognize potential hazards and risks by implementing daily, weekly, monthly walkthroughs/project inspections.
  • Report hazards and regulatory concerns to Safety Manager.
  • Ensure that all employees, subcontractors/vendors and visitors comply with applicable H&S policies & procedures.
  • Track and investigate incident/injury reports, near misses. Conduct root cause analysis investigations and develop corrective actions for all incidents.
  • Develop and review sitespecific safety related written SOPs and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Ensure H&S files (documentation) are maintained to include training records, equipment inspection logs, permits and procedures certifications
  • Be accessible and visible to the employee population by monitoring, evaluating and addressing employee safety concerns and issues.
  • Ensure compliance and monitor requirements with the Construction Safety Standard (29CFR.1926)
  • Coordinate site specific emergency planning programs. Develop and review site emergency programs (fire, hurricane, chemical spills, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL:


  • Associate's Degree or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in occupational or environmental health strongly preferred. Experience in developing and coordinating safety programs and delivering.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Hazards Administration) regulations and requirements. OSHA510 Occupational Safety & Health for the Construction Standard.
  • OSHA Certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal laws, local ordinances, and other rules and regulations associated with facility and employee safety and security.
  • Competent to implement site specific safety procedures; i.e.; Hazard Communication, Fall Protection,
Excavation & Electrical Safety, Emergency Management plan, etc.

  • Certified or be able to become Firstaid and CPR Certified.
  • Must complete medical evaluation to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary to perform these duties.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills (verbal, presentation and listening) to interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete, and easily understood written communications and reports.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
  • Must be able to respond to emergencies at jobsites during off hours and weekends (incident investigations.
  • Must have and maintain and valid driver's license and qualify for the Company driver program.
  • Experience conducting onsite drug tests.
  • Bilingual is preferred.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:


  • The salary for this position will commensurate according to experience.

Up to $70,000.00 per year
