Description
The Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics in Garching near Munich is a world leader in the field of ground-based and space-based experimental astronomy. The IT group supports and maintains the institute's IT infrastructure and central IT services. Additionally, they develop scientific software and applications for ongoing research projects, as well as specific control software for detectors and satellites currently under construction.
The main research areas of the High-Energy Group (HEG) include compact remnants of stars such as white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes, the evolution of supermassive black holes at the center of galaxies, and the formation of the largest structures in the universe.
To support the HE group, which is working on current and future X-ray telescopes (eROSITA / SRG and Athena), the IT group is seeking a highly motivated
