    Description

    SiLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical-Thermal Engineer with extensive industry experience in photonics packaging and electronic-photonic product design. This pivotal role encompasses the design, simulation, manufacturing, and assembly of comprehensive mechanical and thermal solutions for our cutting-edge electronic-photonic products.

    Responsibilities:

    • Translate product requirements to mechanical and thermal specifications of its packaging.
    • Develop innovative design concepts with optimal form factors and power dissipation.
    • Design a comprehensive solution, overseeing manufacturing and assembly processes.
    • Conduct simulations to validate thermal and mechanical (shock and vibration) performance.
    • Choose materials for enclosure, epoxies, thermal interface materials (TIM), etc., ensuring they meet product specifications and guarantee durability.
    • Select appropriate photonic and electronic interfaces (connectors, windows) based on the specifications.
    • Establish a test plan to ensure the final implementation meets all requirements.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to transition from prototype to mass production.

    Qualifications:

    • M.Sc. or PhD in mechanical engineering or related field
    • 5+ years industry experience
    • 3+ years of product design experience
    • Proficient in Solidworks
    • Familiar with Ansys Icepak and equivalent thermal simulation tools
    • Comfortable with Ansys Sherlock, Ansys Mechanical, and equivalent simulation tools
    • Prior experience with thermal management of optoelectronic components
    • Background in analyzing dynamic thermal behavior of a system and its impact on stress profiles across material interfaces
