    Chief Engineer

    The Chief Engineer at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Austin Parmer/Tech Ridge is accountable for ensuring smooth operations, maintenance, service, and repair of all equipment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Ensure implementation and administration of the Preventative Maintenance program according to MCR standards.
    • Evaluate and supervise the work of all staff, contractors, or outside laborers.
    • Address guestroom maintenance requests promptly.
    • Maintain operational manuals and warranty agreements for equipment.
    • Promptly respond to alarms, identify the location and cause, and report findings to Guest Services and/or the General Manager.
    • Manage energy expenses and focus on energy conservation.
    • Ensure compliance with area health codes for pool and spa facilities.
    • Maintain a key control system and ensure adherence to it.
    • Follow MCR standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to stay calm and react quickly in emergencies.
    • Utilize reasoning abilities effectively.
    • Basic maintenance skills.
    • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record.
    • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Company approved software.
    • Clear conveyance of information and ideas.
    • Desire to provide excellent service to all guests.
    • Minimum age of 18 to perform the job.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Technical, Trade, or Vocational school degree.
    • Licensed in a trade discipline preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
    • 2 years of relevant work experience.
    • Ability to carry all necessary equipment for work tasks.
    • Experience in a hotel, apartment, or similar setting.
