Job Summary


Position is responsible for performing electroencephalograph (EEG) and other neurodiagnostic examinations according to physician's orders under the supervision of the department manager.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Associate's degree, preferred.


Licenses/Certifications:
Basic Life Support certification.


Experience / Knowledge / Skills:


  • Minimum of two (2) years directly related experience or an Associate's degree in Neurodiagnostic Technologies; in lieu of two (2) years' experience.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Receives and records physician's orders for patient testing: schedules patients, obtains patient medical history and completes appropriate documentation.
  • Prepares patients for procedures explains procedure, measures for accurate electrode sites, applies electrodes and adjusts as appropriate.
  • Performs electroencephalograph (EEG) exams, may perform other neurodiagnostic exams as directed.
  • Maintains equipment and makes minor adjustments as indicated.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports departmentbased goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
