_Allegheny Science & Technology (AST)_ is looking for a
_Communications Specialist_ to support the
_U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)_ in Washington, DC This position will be responsible for helping foster communication and engagement with targeted audiences around the nation's leading source of clean energy—nuclear power.
Position Responsibilities:
- Development, dissemination, and coordination of the client's communication related information and activities, as well as coordination of multiple messaging efforts at once including vetting of information and materials with management/senior staff, related stakeholders and other offices as needed.
- Content development and maintenance support including performing updates and support activities as requested, including graphic design support, management of text, assets, documents, PDFs, videos, and other media.
- Development of corresponding digital communications products (e.g., fact sheets, presentations, press statements, etc.).
- Articulate and amplify key messages internally (memos, presentations) and externally (presentations, reports) in professional and highly polished form.
- Assists in the creation of social media content, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram where applicable.
- Develop metrics and report to Communications Lead and leadership on emergent trends and new opportunities to engage.
Position Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of direct communications experience.
- Experience in science or nuclear energy industry preferred.
