Job SummaryProvidesprofessional accounting expertise to ensure that transactions of the Company's operations are accurately recorded, analyzed, and reported in a timely, cost-effective manner in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and in compliance with regulatory, state and federal requirements.
Essential Functions
Analyzesinformation, collects and cross-references supporting documentation to prepare/review accounting schedules, documents, reports and/or journal entries
Uses analytical and spreadsheet skills to prepare journal entries
Reconciles account activity and resolves discrepancies
Interprets and monitors corporate compliance with GAAP/Regulatory/State and Federal requirements
Ensures proper retention of records
Interfaces in a variety of forums to obtain or to provide financial/accounting information and provides financial/statistical information (written or oral) as requested; prepares reports for internal and external auditors
Performs all aspects of work with high degree of effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy
Participates on and/or leads cross functional project teams involved in the design, development, testing and implementation of automated systems, reengineering of processes, or implementation of new requirements
Stays abreast of industry and business issues and understands and applies this knowledge in current activities
Interacts with internal and external auditors in completing audits
Other duties as assigned by Management
Education Description
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting or Finance
Experience
Minimum of two years full-time accounting or financial experience
Additional Requirements
Strongtechnical knowledge and ability to apply accounting theory and principles
Skilled in performing financial and statistical computations
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (use of and understanding of intermediate-level formulas and pivot tables)
Proficient in effectively communicating to a wide range of audiences in both written and oral form
Excels in quickly conceptualizing and assimilating data to make decisions and take appropriate action
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment.
Able to take a leadership role on a project team to establish plans, coordinate team activities, and assure successful completion of objectives
Works independently through the use of initiative and self-motivation
Adapts effectively to new and changing environments
Comfortably handles risk and uncertainty
Demonstrate ability to conduct Accounting, Regulatory and Industry research
Experience with SAP and current versions of Microsoft Office Products
