Northrop Grumman's Corporate Office is seeking a Legislative Affairs Coordinator. The Coordinator reports to the Vice President, Legislative Affairs within the Corporate Strategy and Development organization, and
will be located in
Washington, DC

In this job, you'll:


  • Support the Legislative Affairs team by tracking and summarizing Congressional activity, including hearings, markups, reports, and other legislative activity.
  • Draft letters, presentations, fact sheets, white papers, and other supporting documents.
  • Assist the Legislative Affairs team prepare for meetings and site visits, to include travel arrangements, expense reporting, and scheduling.
  • Serve as the office manager for the Washington, DC office, where you will greet visitors and ensure smooth office operations.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience tracking Congressional activity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. political process, including federal elections.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Three to five years of work experience demonstrating increasing responsibilities.
  • Experience with the defense authorization and/or appropriations process.
  • Experience working with a Political Action Committee.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Concur (or similar) travel and expense reporting system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Selfstarter, with excellent judgment and integrity, and a willingness to learn.

Salary Range:
$79,300 - $118,900

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
