Description

For the Process Development Blast Furnace department within our integrated steelworks at the Salzgitter location, we are currently seeking a Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team.

Your responsibilities

  • You will develop software and adapt model and process control computers for our production facilities (sinter plant, coking plant, blast furnaces, and direct reduction plants)
  • You will further develop the IT infrastructure used (e.g. database systems, virtualization, data backup, network)
  • You will commission IT systems in a production environment
  • You will take on medium-term project management for IT systems within new construction projects and plant modernizations
  • You will be the contact person for IT service providers and coordinate them
  • You will be responsible for the maintenance, error analysis, and troubleshooting of process and IT systems within the assigned plant area
  • You will gather IT requirements and implement them in IT solutions
  • You are willing to participate in regular on-call duty

Your profile

  • You have successfully completed a degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable field
  • You have knowledge in software engineering, database systems, software development, and handling corresponding tools (e.g. OOP, C#, Java, ERM, SQL Server)
