    Principal Electronics Engineer

    to join our growing team in

    Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
    You will become part of Northrop Grumman's Systems and Software Solutions (S&SS). S&SS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-1, KC-135, and numerous other Government platforms.

    Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.

    You will support the Lead Engineer in execution of various program activities, to include Test system design and evaluation, design and development of communication, flight controls, navigation, radar, avionics, power and/or electrical systems architecture, components, circuits, and products or aircraft maintenance.

    The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, perform equipment, systems, and design evaluations and provide general engineering support for defense or commercial systems.


    Responsibilities:
    Provide leadership and mentoring in addition to being an individual performer
    Analyze complex electronic circuitry and precision electro-mechanical assemblies through simulation or analysis in order to recommend component substitutions or re-design solutions to ensure the integrity of the platform configuration, system safety, and performance specifications
    Develop fault-isolation guidance for technician repair support
    Identify, analyze, and solve obsolescence issues
    Access, interpret, and recommend changes to engineering drawings
    Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test
    Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
    Identify program problems and assist in the establishing of solutions, such as allocation of resources, improved processes, or changing contractual specifications
    Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of programs
    Support process improvement and establishment
    Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
    Generate reports and presents to Government counterparts, defense contractors, and other cross-functional organizations

    Basic Qualifications:

    Must have at least one of the following:
    A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience
    A Master's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
    A PhD degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
    Ability to work on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
    Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components
    Experience with test planning at the circuit card, equipment, and system level
    Experience generating automated test software
    Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
    Experience with nuclear hardened systems
    Experience with aerospace systems
    Experience with RF systems
    Experience with requirements management best practices
    Experience conducting analysis of electrical components within aircraft maintenance programs, determining effectiveness, and creating written recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness
    Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components
    Experience with CAD or similar design tools

    Salary Range:
    $87,800 - $131,600

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
