Jr. Accountant
We are seeking a Jr. Accountant to join our finance/accounting team.
**Job Description: Based in Port Everglades, Florida. The Jr. Accountant will provide accounting support and analysis to management. Work with the accounting department and other financial professionals within our company to help evaluate the organization's income and spending. The Jr. Accountant provides reports necessary for higher-level decision makers. The basic responsibilities shall be assisting the Accounting Manager, supporting, and providing accurate data-based information and assisting with the analysis and preparation of the financial statements.
Ensure to continuously strive to improve the service to all customers and provide an environmentally safe working environment for all FIT and ILA employees.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare standard and nonstandard journal entries daily, monthly, and quarterly.
- Utilize math skills to analyze key financial data.
- Prepare accounting reports on a determined schedule.
- Utilize technical skills to create charts and graphs for visual understanding.
- Provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise.
- Work with Accounting department to ensure accurate preparation of monthly financial statements (facilitate A/P, analyze GL account activity, prepare, or review other supporting documentation).
- Perform review monthly financial statement vs budget and prior periods.
- Investigate and provide feedback on accounting irregularities.
- Assist in month end financial closing, perform account reconciliations, analysis, and journal entries.
- Assisting in preparing reports and projections based on analysis.
- Monthly reconciliation of all company accounts.
- Possess strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Participate in the rotation for the different areas in the Finance & Accounting Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Prefer a bachelor's degree in accounting. Preferred degree programs include accounting, finance, or business.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Others:
- Team player
- Prefer knowledge with ERP systems.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Knowledge of file management, and other administrative procedures.
- Ability to quickly learn industryrelated regulations quickly and utilize information in written reports.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrates the ability for independent decisionmaking.
- Must be flexible and responsive to business needs.
