Description
Excelta is looking to add a Quality Inspector to their team. The Quality Inspector plays a pivotal role in ensuring the superior quality of Excelta products throughout the manufacturing process.

This position involves meticulously inspecting materials, components, and final products at various stages of production, documenting findings, and suggesting improvements to uphold Excelta's standards of excellence.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies, and finished products based on predefined criteria, utilizing standard physical, mechanical, and/or electrical measurements.
  • Rectify or reject subassemblies or final products as necessary.
  • Perform and document process and system audits, adhering to established procedures as audit standards.
  • Accurately record inspection and testing results, maintaining organized and uptodate test records and controlled document files.
  • Coordinate the calibration of all testing equipment and fixtures, ensuring their accuracy and reliability.
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation to guarantee proper operation and calibration.
  • Collaborate in the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the inspection function.
  • Initiate the drafting and updating of inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
  • Identify issues and provide initial recommendations for potential corrective actions to the Manager.
  • Liaise with Production Management to offer feedback to assemblers concerning the accuracy of assembly procedures.
  • Review historical records and documentation for compliance with established procedures and good documentation practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High School diploma required; Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent in Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field strongly preferred.
  • At least one year of quality experience within a production environment and/or manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in Mechanical Inspection and familiarity with ISO standards preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills.
  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and optical tools.
  • Familiarity with various coatings, heat treat operations, NDT, and surface finishes desired.
  • Ability to work autonomously with a willingness to perform various tasks as needed.
  • Detailoriented mindset with proficiency in data entry and computer database skills.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Personal computer and software systems (ERP SysPro, Microsoft Office suite, etc.)
  • Standard office equipment: telephone, copier/scanner, and others as required

Environmental Conditions of Employment

  • The work environment involves frequent exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, chemicals, and manufacturing equipment typical of a manufacturing setting.

Compensation
- $21-27/hour


Pay:
$ $27.00 per hour
