ABOUT THIS POSITION:


Approximately 48 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2023, one of the busiest airports in the country in the nation's 5th largest city.

Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an economic impact of $38 billion annually.

The Aviation Department has a vacancy for a Supervisor II position.

This position will work in the Badging and Security Section and will be responsible for various regulatory initiatives including, but not limited to fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Checks and Security Threat Assessments on airport badge and credential holders, contract security oversight, and supervision of the badging processes.

This position will supervise Aviation Supervisor I's and Airport Access Agents in addition to providing administrative and operational support of the badging process.


Duties also include a variety of supervisory, administrative, and technical tasks in an airport section, such as technical report writing, monitoring performance, human resource management, developing and implementing of formal procedures, and collaborating with internal and external organizations.

The Supervisor II is also responsible for federal, state, and local regulation compliance such as Chapter 4, Article IV of the Phoenix City Code, Aviation Regulation Part 139, and Code of Federal Regulations Part 1542.

  • Excellent computer, data entry, and analytical skills with an ability to function in a communications/call centertype environment.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations affecting airport operations, control, safety, and security.
  • Ability to observe, compare, or monitor data, or people's behavior to determine compliance with prescribed operating and safety standards.
  • Ability to communicate orally in the English language with individuals in a facetoface, oneonone, or group setting, or by using the telephone.

SALARY:


Pay Range:
$24.93 to $47.01 per hour.

Hiring Range:
$24.93 to $35.08 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in airport activities or a technically specific area;
  • One year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • Other combinations of education and experience which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
