BUDGET ADMINISTRATOR

Part-Time:
up to 29 hours/week

$36.49-$50.07 Hourly

**Summary: To administer agency objectives by planning long term financial strategies and interpreting data to draw conclusions and defend decisions on behalf of the NH Veterans Home.


Responsibilities:


  • Strategize and develops biennial operating and capital budgets for the agency and monitor their viability at a macro level.
  • Develops, authorizes, and monitors budgetary policies, procedures and longrange plans related to financial operations of the NHVH.
  • Evaluates budgetary operations and internal controls for the agency for effectiveness and implements any required changes.
  • Formulates and implements agency budget, including authorizing improvements in budget administration and departmental fiscal and program operations.
  • Works collaboratively with the agency's senior management to identify short and longterm goals as they relate to budgetary needs and makes recommendations to the Commandant.
  • Identifies legislative requirements, develops proposed legislation, and testifies on legislative bills for the purpose of explaining and defending agency objectives and goals.
  • Represents the agency before the Governor, House Finance and Senate Finance Committees as it relates to the NH Veterans Home capital and operating budgets.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education:

Master's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with major study in accounting, financial management, business administration, public administration, or related field.


Experience:

Seven years' experience in accounting, finance management including auditing, four years of which must have been in a management level position involving administrative or supervisory duties concerns with program administration, program planning and evaluation, business management or related management experience.


OR

Education:

Bachelor's degree an accredited institute of higher education with major study in accounting, financial management, business administration, public administration, or related field.


Experience:

Eight years' experience in accounting, finance management including auditing, four years of which must have been in a management level position involving administrative or supervisory duties concerns with program administration, program planning and evaluation, business management or related management experience.


License/Certifications:
Must possess a valid Driver's License.
