Description
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleans all common areas in the building and sidewalk areas surrounding and adjacent to the building on a daily basis.
Empties trash, services, cleans, and supplies all restrooms.
Cleans windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
Dusts furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment.
Helps clean and maintain storage areas.
Collects trash from each floor and empties trash cans into the dumpsters, daily.
Clears debris from grounds and removes snow from sidewalks and driveways.
Assists where contracted work is utilized, such as snow removal of the common area walkway, police scavenger removal area, etc.
- Performs routine cleaning assignments by following a regular cleaning schedule.
- Updates supervisor daily on status of building exterior and interior deficiency.
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Reports hazardous or emergency conditions and identifies maintenance and repair needs.
- Prepares facilities for events such as banquets and meetings, including set-up, arrangement of tables and chairs, decorations and providing ladders and scaffolding, as needed.
- Prepares empty rooms for occupancy and notifies Resident/Building Manager about vacancies, if known.
- Moves heavy furniture, equipment and supplies either manually or with hand trucks.
- Adheres to and performs duties listed on janitorial and programming chart.
- Maintains an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies.
- Replaces light bulbs and fuses.
- Assists in supervision, mentoring and cross-training for janitorial staff.
- Attends required meetings (includes training).
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements/Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
One year of janitorial experience or specialized training.
Manual dexterity and ability to lift 50 pounds to perform cleaning and moving tasks.
