Job description
We have an opportunity for an Estimating Technical Specialist in Glen Allen, VA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop project estimates in SUCCESS (RIB US Cost Success) to assist substation engineering team
- Collaborate with team to ensure accuracy of estimates
- Review the estimating database accuracy and update it as required
- Create/Review technical drawings (Substation Layout and one-line Diagram)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math, Architecture or other technical discipline; Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of preferred degree
- 2-5 years' experience estimating projects
- Ability to read, interpret plan and elevation drawings.
- Some knowledge of construction (substation construction, any type of utility, civil/ site development)
- Familiarity with SAP, scheduling, or finance management
- SAGE knowledge and/ or experience is preferred
- AutoCAD and Microstation experience is a plus
- Knowledge of any estimating software is a plus
- Willing to learn process/standards but share their ideas
- Evidence of good collaboration with team members
- Planning, organizational and project management skills
- Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks
- Effective time management and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
