Faculty and Program Director, Applied Behavior Analysis Program

POSITION: Full-time with faculty rank; tenure-track; 11-month appointment in the School of Education.

STARTING DATE: July 1, 2022

The Pupil Personnel Services Division at Fresno Pacific University offers a Verified Course Sequence (VCS) program for Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). The Masters' Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis is in the final approval process. In addition to Applied Behavior Analysis, the PPS Division offers School Counseling, School Psychology credential and Masters' Degree programs. The program graduates are well prepared and highly desired in the professional and educational community in California's Central Valley.

ROLE

The Program Director for Applied Behavior Analysis will teach in the program, provides administrative leadership for the program and be responsible for coordinating the Verified Course Sequence (VCS) and communicating with the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) at all FPU campuses. Specific duties include:

• Work with the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) directors, faculty, and staff in Applied Behavior Analysis at all FPU campuses.
• Attend all program director, and other required meetings.
• Teach appropriate courses, supervise candidates in the field placements, and advise PPSprogram students.
• Support planning and development, outreach, and recruitment of students.
• Assume administrative responsibility and manage the budget for theApplied Behavior Analysis programs for all FPU campuses.
• Support (by offering advice and consultation) marketing and public relations initiatives for the program.
• Monitor syllabi content and program cohesion for all ABA courses.
• Monitor candidate Research Projects and Exit Portfolio development.
• Develop and sustain relationships with local schools and agencies for the purpose of fostering high quality fieldwork placements and building professional partnerships.
• Maintain an understanding of changes in state and federal legislation that affect the program and attend state conferences that update trends and pendinglegislation.
• Represent the program to the internal and external communities, e.g. Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) and the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), other Federal and State regulatory agencies, internship sites, and professional associations.
• Maintain professional memberships and professional development.
• Pursue an active scholarly agenda.

In consultation with Division Chair:

• Oversee admission of candidates to the PPS programs at all sites.
• Recruit, support, and work with adjunct teachingand supervising faculty.
• Lead the academics activities of the faculty within the program and monitor the performance of the program, in conjunction with the Dean of the School of Education.
• Initiate recommendations regarding program planning, course scheduling, and faculty assignments with the program, in conjunction with the Dean of the School of Education.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Doctoral degree (completed or ABD with plan for completion) and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. Completion of a terminal degree is a requisite for continued employment.
• Successful BCBA organizational and leadership experience.
• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Current knowledge of Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) supervision requirements, including knowledge of practicum and internship requirements including the selection of appropriate sites for practicum training.
• Experience and sensitivity in managing people in complex organizational settings.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills and decision-making skills.
• Administrative experience managing programs for working adults.
• Experience with the development of extensive networks and connections with external stakeholders.
• Record or promise of scholarly achievement.
• Commitment to the Christian faith and the University's mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local church.

Preferred:

• Completed Doctoral level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) with current certification.

COMPENSATION: Dependent on qualifications and experience; paid out over 12 months. Full-time benefits include insurance (medical, vision, dental, LTD), retirement (TIAA-CREF).
