Reporting to the Center for Continuing and Professional Studies Executive Director, the Manager of Academics will serve as the academic lead for all of the Center of Continuing and Professional Studies (CCPS) program areas - Adult Learner, corporate, and international short-term programs.

The Manager of Academics will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of innovative courses and programs as they relate to creative industry careers associated with the CCPS programs with an emphasis on writing curriculum.

The Manager of Academics will lead the development of new creative industry-related content while also managing faculty recruitment.

In this role, the Manager of Academics will partner with the college's academic departments, staff, and external stakeholders, including local businesses, government agencies, workforce development boards, and non-profits, to build strong working relationships and connections that lead to the development of and execution of new forward-thinking courses and programs designed for Adult Learners and industry executives focused on the creative industries.

In addition, the Manager of Academics and Innovative Programming will also oversee the selection and execution of courses for the Evening/Weekend programs
- (AAS in Fashion Design, Communication Design, Jewelry Design, Fashion Merchandising Management, and Advertising and Marketing Communications; BS in Fashion Merchandising Management, Advertising and Marketing Communications; and International Trade and Marketing; BFA in Graphic Design and in Illustration). Identify an adequate pool of faculty and courses that create a vibrant learning environment for students studying during the evenings and weekends. Partner with the academic, student, and alumni service resources to ensure that the Evening/Weekend experience is a competitive offering aligning with the objectives of the strategic plan. Plan course offerings for each program in the proper sequence and a timely manner while ensuring the availability of academic advisement at suitable times. This individual will also inform students of course sequences as they enter each program.


Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Adult Learner Programs

  • Oversee schedule development for all adult learner courses for all modalities each semester.
  • Lead efforts to identify new programming opportunities while also routinely reviewing previously taught curriculum.
  • Maintain a vetted roster of industry and academically experienced instructors to meet the teaching needs of adult learners.

Online and Certificate Programs

  • Lead the launch and oversight of online and certificate programs targeting the adult learner.
  • Partner with FIT academic and staff units to execute program launches.
  • Identify faculty capable of teaching within online and certificate programs.

Evening/Weekend Schedule Programs

  • Responsible for the coordination of the following AASs degrees in Fashion Design, Communication Design, Jewelry Design, Fashion Merchandising Management, and Advertising and Marketing Communications; BS in Fashion Merchandising Management, Advertising and Marketing Communications and International Trade and Marketing; BFA in Graphic Design and in Illustration.
  • Partner with the appropriate faculty, staff, and administrators to grow Evening/Weekend enrollment
  • Admissions, Academic Affairs, Advisement, and Career and Internship Services.

General Administration

  • Oversee the execution of CCPS IT needs in partnership with our vendors and internal support teams.
  • Oversee Covid 19 and other healthrelated compliance matters for students.
  • Support the instructor payroll and supplies costs management for CCPS programs.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications**:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience developing and executing online and remote programs.
  • Experience managing curriculum approvals.
  • Experiencing managing budgets.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Proven ability to write curriculum.
  • An understanding of continuing education and the creative industries.
  • Proficient with the general workings of learning management systems and other academic technologybased resources.
  • A track record of developing and growing adult learner offerings, both inperson and online.
  • Ability to multitask while also demonstrating an appreciation for details.
  • Strong communication skills and experience presenting information and summary reports to internal and external partners.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in education, business, or an appropriate field.
  • Six or more years of higher education administrative experience and progressive responsibility related to all
