Description

As an S&T Chemist, you will support the development of product to meet industrial standards, specifications, and other customer requirements in a laboratory setting.

You will also provide assistance to research, quality, and manufacturing support functions as needed. This is an onsite position located in our Sylmar, CA. facility. You will report to the S&T Research Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate new processes, products in conformance with engineering specifications
Address problems with the use of chemistry, instrumentation, and interpret data and communicate result
Manufacturing Process Improvement
Perform quality control testing in accordance with established company specifications and ASTM procedures and/or other accepted methods.
Support in updating or developing new specifications/standard operating procedures as needed
Maintain sensitive technical equipment per written standards and procedures with excellent laboratory practices
Ensure documentation, and data accuracy; maintain a system of quality documents, and records. Write procedures/reports, input data into computer database/SharePoint, maintain a laboratory notebook, and generate test records.
Support in Product Stewardship requirements.
Follow all applicable EH&S guidelines.
Perform 5S cleaning and housekeeping duties as required.
Will be required to perform projects/tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or related scientific field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience
General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies.
Must be able to wear required PPE, when applicable.

Salary Range $70,000-$75,000 plus annual bonus
